Passage: Matthew 6:12-14

 

Summary: The hour has come and the disciples fail to do what Jesus told them to in chapter 13 – they fail to keep watch! Even Peter denies Jesus, as Jesus says he would. The point is that no-one can withstand the great time of suffering except one man – Jesus himself.Following Jesus unto death is not literally possible – his death alone can atone.
